Cyclone Research Impacts
  • A New Cyclone Design Procedure that Minimizes Dependence upon Empirical Procedures and Data – Dr. Parnell and Ms Lingjuan Wang
Ms. Wang has made excellent progress developing a mathematical approach to cyclone design. Her goal is to reduce dependence upon empirical data.  She has solved the problem for predicting pressure drop (energy consumption). She is currently addressing the fractional efficiency curves. Success with this study will likely have a major impact upon all agricultural operations using cyclones. (One cotton gin will have an investment of $300,000 to $ 2 million in cyclones).
